Contrary to expressed opinion, the 2010 midterm elections were both a referendum on the Obama Administration as well as the ability of the Democratic Party to hold its fragile coalitions together and mobilize their base. Democrats employed a cloak and dagger strategy with an okey-doke philosophy to downplay their numbers and what they wanted out of this. The Tea Party Movement of center right conservatives of all stripes took the Democrats and Republicans off of their game plan in an unpredictable disorganized non-coordinated fashion.

While candidates struggled for money, Obama sat on his $150 million surplus from the 2008 Presidential Campaign in likely anticipation of a 2012 run where he would have problems generating the same level of funds raised in 2008. Rather than appreciate the messages of the Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News stations, etc. simply for what they were — dissenting opinions; Obama the democrat went on the defense making the American people the enemy, seeing racism in any opposition to a black president with a supportive pile on expressed from the previously traditional media, and letting the President show his true colors in noting “We won and you loss,” or “They need to get to the back of the bus” or definitions of those who opposed his policies as “the enemy.”

An excellent piece by John Heilemann describes how Sarah Palin could become the next president. Will she run, he asks? She’s already running, he answers. Could she get the nomination? You betcha.

Some think that she is a horrible candidate. Some think that she is the epitome of what we need in politics today. Yet others think that – well – she’s a witch. Either way you think, the Delaware senatorial candidate stands on the brink of being Sarah Palin, Jr. for the conservative movement regardless of how she does on November 2.

Republicans continue to play a dangerous game of politics that may give them short term victory, but will ultimately destroy their brand and viability. They are allowing fellow Republicans to enter territory that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

Republicans would argue that they can’t “control” what others say and that people have the right to “freedom of speech.” All this is true, but there is such a thing as enabling a person to engage in destructive behavior. You don’t have to strike the match that causes a fire to be culpable. Spreading gas in a building and walking away while someone else lights the match is enough for both parties to be guilty!

Republicans have indoctrinated Sarah Palin into actually thinking that she has a future as an elected official. She is an empty vessel that they fill with words that she has absolutely no understanding of. She is a pretty face, who uses folksy language and one who excites and rallies a fringe element of the party. No political strategist (Republican or Democrat) takes Palin seriously.

Nadra Enzi did not offer much of any quantitative or qualitative criticism in the Beyond The Pale op-ed. The only thing I got from it is that Enzi just doesn’t like Sarah and seems to hate that tons of people love Sarah.

Governor Palin is an ethnic escapist dream where simple rural girls best slick urban intellectuals.

If indeed former Alaska Governor and Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is the joke the new left claims her to be, one wonders why they don’t simply ignore her.

Sarah Palin the ever controversial political super star released her best seller auto-biography Going Rogue last week. Already a selling success the book details her life, and the failed 2008 Vice Presidential Campaign. Though the campaign to make John McCain POTUS failed, Sarah has been a wild success amongst conservatives and fair minded politicos.

Her down to earth demeanor and straight forward speaking style captivated the core of the GOP and infuriated the Left Wing and its Hollywood babysitters. Striking fear into the hearts of her critics Palin’s book comes out swinging at those who unfairly criticized her, but unlike most politicians she takes plenty of time to acknowledge her own mistakes.

No one ever accused Palin of being a health policy expert, and many found her hyperbolic term “death panel” off-putting. But that should not distract voters from this reality: President Obama has proposed a new body that would enhance Medicare’s ability to deny care to the elderly and disabled based on government bureaucrats’ arbitrary valuations of those patients’ lives.

It is right there in the legislation now before Congress, and it is called the Independent Medicare Advisory Council.

Sara Palin will go down in history as the first woman part of the presidential republican package that is a fact. Yet the question is was she the best republican woman leader the party had to offer at that time?

So even If I and you don’t vote for her, she will be there, ever present to represent us not in lawmaking, but at least in image, to help change the idea that somehow we are all backward hicks, or country club high horses. The average Conservative Republican is just an average American, your next door neighbor, your mailman, your bus driver, maybe even a union protected teacher in your kid’s school.

Sarah is just a wife, a mom, a former and honorary union member, a churchgoer, a former Mayor, Governor, and maybe if you seek to vote her, a future President. Maybe Sarah’s spotlight seeks to teach a new lesson, maybe what makes us average, makes us special.
