Crystal Wright : Newt Wins South Carolina & Romney Doesn’t Make History

What a reversal of fortune this past week was for Romney. Rick Santorum was declared the winner of Iowa after a recount revealed he won more votes than Romney. Romney won New Hampshire. Then Newt took South Carolina.

Crystal Wright: Is Newt Gingrich Running for POTUS or Working at the Chocolate Factory?

Newt Gingrich needs to stop his parade of excuses for failing to qualify to get his name on Virginia’s GOP presidential ballot. “I think it’s more like Lucille Ball at the chocolate factory.

You’ve got to get it organized,” quipped Romney about Gingrich’s Virginia fiasco. For once I agree with Mitt Romney. The “only failed system” is the Gingrich campaign’s incompetence, not Virginia’s law, which has been in place since 1970.

As a person who has written favorably about Gingrich as being the most qualified candidate on the GOP presidential stump, I was shocked by the turn of events in Virginia and offer the candidate some constructive criticism.

Crystal Wright: The Case for Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich’s rise to leader of the pack among Republican presidential hopefuls isn’t an accident nor is he just the GOP flavor of the month.

Gingrich is the most formidable and qualified candidate to take on Barack Obama and win, something conservatives are coming to realize, which is why the New Hampshire Union Leader endorsed Newt Gingrich in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary because he is most capable of leading the country out of this mess.

The more Gingrich debated his colleagues, the more people liked him. In every debate Gingrich has performed deftly, offering common sense solutions to problems facing America from entitlement reform to foreign relations. He also acted like a statesman in debates, never falling for liberal moderators’ bait of trashing his colleagues. As Newt often reiterates, “any one of us on this stage could do a better job than Barack Obama.”

An Able Gingrich Makes for a Bad Cain

In what was designed to be a modern day re-play of the Lincoln-Douglass style debate, Newt Gingrich reinforced he’s the best candidate in the GOP field.

Chris Ladd: Sex Tips for Politicians

image

This post is specially dedicated to my thousands of admiring readers who are major political figures (you can’t prove otherwise). It’s time we had a grown-up talk.

When Bill Clinton left office I thought it was finally safe for children to watch the news again. But clearly you folks need some help dealing with two very important subjects: The Internet and your personal sexual choices which creep me out. Why? Not to save your careers, or protect the Republic, or advance your political agenda. I want you to listen to my advice because I’m sick of hearing what you cheeky monkeys do with your free time and I’d like a break.

Many of you came of age in the era of the rotary dial phone, so let me take a moment to explain the Internet. The Internet is a place where people post semi-anonymous naked pictures of themselves for anyone to enjoy. It can also be used for other stuff like playing games, stealing classified information, pirating movies, and virtual farming.

Crystal Wright: GOP Doubtfuls for 2012

image

If the current crop of declared GOP presidential contenders is the party’s field of dreams for 2012, we’re in real trouble. Reviewing the line up thus far, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty, the group has the charisma factor of a ball of wax. Let’s face it charisma is more than 50% of presidential candidates appeal and for the most part this group is just plain dullsville when stacked up against Obama.

So far, Republicans’ quest for the White House in 2012 is looking more like a bad reality show at best, giving team Obama ample room for confidence the president will win a second term. Comb over, business titan Donald Trump’s flirtation with running for president was truly embarrassing. This week, just when we thought he couldn’t top his ridiculous press conference, taking credit for forcing Obama to reveal his birth certificate, Trump declared he wouldn\’t run for president but “I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and, ultimately , the general election.” Hardly, Americans won’t elect a birther as president.
