BR: Allen West the Multi-Million Dollar Candidate

The conservative Republican and former lieutenant colonel is raising mad money in his “Operation Go West” bid to unseat Rep. Ron Klein (D-Fla.) in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District seat. With spending of $348,000 during the three months, Mr. West continues to build up cash for the important – and expensive – advertising campaign in the autumn. He has a total of $2.18 million in cash on hand as of the end of the quarter. Total money raised during the campaign is close to $3.5 million. “It’s a clear sign that we have the momentum,” campaign manager Josh Grodin said. “People are fed up with what’s happening in Washington and they’re looking for new leadership.”
