Andre Harper: The Media Silence On Gas Prices Is Deafening

I’m starting to think that I’m the only one that has noticed that the price of filling up my sedan has jumped from $38-$50 in the last two months. Perhaps that extra $12 (and counting) per fill up is nothing to the liberal media but it is a lot of money to me.
While I was sitting at the gas pump watching the numbers rise for what seemed like an eternity, I realized that the liberals in D.C. and in the media were outraged when gas prices hit $2.50 in 2006. Now they are either silent or write stories to make rising gas prices seem like a good thing. I would love to have $2.50 gas prices right now.
Way back in 2006, the media was filled with endless stories about how President George W. Bush and the Republican Party were in collusion with “Big Oil” in order to gauge the American people. We were constantly bombarded with stories about the insanity of increasing domestic oil production and building more nuclear plants. Our heart strings were pulled by stories of the “working poor” being unable to make it to work because of George W. Bush’s failed energy policies. Everywhere you turned you saw Democrat politicians, the NAACP, labor unions and every other left wing wacko group marching around gas stations. In 2011, all of those loud people are silent.
Now I remember, 2006 was an election year and the media did everything possible to facilitate the Democrats taking over the House and the Senate and set the table for President Obama to win in 2008. Now that the Democrats control the White House and the Senate, the suffering of the American people is no longer important, but maintaining power is.
While the media may be ignoring rising gas prices, President Obama isn’t. Obama, speaking to Al Sharpton’s organization, he said “I’m just going to be honest with you. There’s not much we can do next week or two weeks from now,” Obama said earlier today about gas prices. In other words, he’s telling the American people to go pound sand.
The media and their friends on the left are doing everything they can to make Americans ignore their diminishing purchasing power and their daily economic hardships. Their mission has changed from informing the public to controlling our behavior. This is all being done to protect President Obama and do nothing to jeopardize his re-election. Prior to his election, it was customary for Americans to blame everything on the president. That rule change in 2008.
Instead of the media focusing on facts like gas prices have doubled since Obama took office or a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Obama took office and today the national average is $3.58. Today’s stories that dominate the headlines concern Charlie Sheen, American Idol and Dancing With The Stars. The lack of mainstream media coverage of rising gas prices is a part of the new media paradigm. Pay no attention to the world burning around you. Ignore inflation, rising gas prices, and the inability to feed your family without government handouts. The Obama presidency smells worse than the city dump. The media continues to spray perfume on it long in hopes of keeping you uninformed and getting him re-elected.

The fornicate does that mean?
Andre Harper must be living in the media black-out area of his own nas-si-sti-dy stinking anal orifice; for that is the only way one would miss the radio, broadcast television, cable television, internet, and newspaper news on rising oil and gasoline prices.
A graduate of Florida A&M University in critical thinking; NOT!!

A similar vote two weeks ago to recoup $53 billion in taxpayer funds from Big Oil was also voted down, largely along party lines. The former CEO of Shell Oil, John Hoffmeister, recently said Big Oil doesn’t need subsidies “in face of sustained high oil prices.” From 2005 to 2009, the largest oil companies have made a combined $485 billion in profits.

It is what is it. It’s obvious the main stream media is saying very little about the price of gas since O has been president. It’s obvious. All of a sudden because the Rep vote down the 53B bill that is the reason why oil is so high. This kind of crazy thinking is what really confuses me about my people. Yes, I’m a black man from Brooklyn NY. I call it the way I see it. I don’t care what side of the fence you are on. This statement up above is Castro like.
Good work Andre,
NSangoma – do you try to be that idiotic. Go back to your troll hole.
