The Jonathan Judge for City Council campaign has released the following statement:
The Jonathan Judge campaign has retained former State Senator Martin Connor as legal counsel on appeal of the Supreme Court’s recent decision to deny Mr. Judge a spot on the ballot. Senator Connor is the former minority leader of the State Senate and represented the 25th Senate district for thirty years.
“Senator Connor was the obvious choice for our appeal, given his time handling election law matters in the State Senate during his career,” Mr. Judge said. “His knowledge and skill as an election attorney are renown, and our campaign is honored to have him representing us.
The Supreme Court decided on Tuesday, March 9th that Mr. Judge had a mere 15 signatures below the number required to stay on the ballot. “The court unfortunately mistook the law and neglected to accept clear and convincing evidence of the scores of additional valid signatures we had collected,” Mr. Judge said. Discussing the lawsuit against him, Mr. Judge added, “David Greenfield and his Vito Lopez machine have done everything in their power to eliminate the voters’ choices in this election.”
The Board of Elections Chief Clerk Diane Rudiano also refused to accept signatures collected by former District leader Susan Cleary while being aware that she was a registered voter. In fact, Ms Cleary served as a Board of Elections poll worker and as a fellow member of the Kings County Republican Party Committee with Ms. Rudiano. Her refusal to accept those dozens of signatures was contrary to the law and entirely inappropriate.
“I am confident that the Appellate Division will restore my name to the ballot given the strength of our legal arguments,” Mr. Judge said.
This appeal comes after Judge’s campaign attained the threshold for matching funds. “I am humbled by the countless donations from my neighbors and friends from across the district,” Judge said. “Our grassroots campaign has been one of the most successful in Brooklyn by far, and that credit goes to the voters of the district.”
Mr. Judge’s appeal will likely be heard early next week.

If anyone who knew Jonathan Judge they would know he is the most divisive figure in the Kings County Republican Party.
Mr. Judge aligned himself with former one term Assemblyman Arnaldo Ferraro the only incumbent who lost in the 1986 state elections who’s son shot a cop in the bathroom and served several years in prison, and is also known to be a tax cheat.
Another figure Susan Cleary as a vice chair in the Kings County Republican Party she refused to attend meetings, and claimed to help rebuild the party, yet gave no money to any candidates.
Mrs. Cleary’s son was also involved in a very troubling case with the Mark Fisher death, as she and her son stonewalled evidence in the case which is a fact.
Her money that she gave to Mr. Judge, is “Dirty Money” to say the least.
Mr. Judge himself is tied to Mr. Lopez and the Kings County Democratic Party machine since Mr. Judge has a $23 an hour patronage job at the offices of Community Board 14 which was given to him from a Democratic City Councilman, and in fact Democratic District Leaders have urged Mr. Judge to drop out of the race regardless.
Talk about biting the hand that feeds.
Mr. Judge also talks a lot about being in tune to the needs of business owners, the working class in the 44th Council District, but Mr. Judge has never held a job other than his job at community board 14, and lives with his parents, he has never paid bills or the rent in his life.
Mr. Judge’s club the Brooklyn Young Republicans do not collect signatures for party candidates, and have divided the Kings County Republican Party in their dealings.
Mr. Judge has himself to blame not State Senator Marty Golden, Mr. Judge’s treasure of the Brooklyn Young Republicans was the one who challenged Mr. Greenfield and the other Republican in the race Kenneth Rice.
Mr. Judge has not given a single dime to the Kings County Republican Party.
His silence at several Kings County Republican Party meetings toward his non support of his predecessor Bob Capano the 2009 City Council Race in the 43rd district the most competitive race against any incumbent in the entire city council is deafening.
Mr. Judge is also involved in a blog called Atlas Shrugs that was the brain child of him and several members of the club he is president of the Brooklyn Young Republicans in which has regularly attacked Kings County Republican Party Chairman Craig Eaton, State Senator Marty Golden, and hindered the chances of Mr. Judge’s predecessor Bob Capano in the 43rd council district again the most competitive race against any incumbent in the 2009 City Council elections.
Mr. Judge has posted several articles on blogs of various sites routinely bashing the Kings County Republican Party, and it’s candidates.
Mr. Judge has also tied himself toward another controversial figure in Lucretia Regina Potter the female district leader in the 49th Assembly District who claimed to be a business owner in the area, but the business has been closed for several months, and now is an unemployed homemaker who lives with her Father.
With all this information this is why 33 out of 36 of the voting members of the executive committee in the Kings County Republican Party voted against Mr. Judge.
Jonathan has talked a lot about reform in his tenure as President of the Brooklyn Young Republicans yet why was it that he intentionally authorized his club’s bi-laws to keep out his job at Community Board 14 when the job itself is a City Government Job.
Jonathan now complains about election laws, but why did he try to use it to his advantage by challenging not one but two candidates petitions by way of his treasurer in the Brooklyn Young Republicans.
Jonathan has talked a lot about reform yet why won’t his treasurer disclose how much funds his club has on hand, and why won’t his club file a disclosure statement like the Kings County Republican Party has toward it’s finances.
Jonathan Judge also denied membership of a woman into his club, Lesli Rice because she explained to him correctly the City’s campaign finance laws.
Jonathan has all but himself to blame for his inept actions, and is now paying the price.
He is no friend to any Republicans, and there is however, another Republican running in this race who did make the ballot with relative ease, who is a friend to all Republicans his name is Kenneth Rice.
March 23rd there is an “Urban Republican” running, and he is running on the Neighborhood Reform line, Ken is one of the top cop lawyers in the NYPD, Ken has already a working relationship with many of the police captains in this district, Ken has the experience when it comes to Law and Order, and is the only candidate running who actually lives in this district, and pays his own bills and pays for a roof over his head in this district.
March 23rd, remember to support the “Urban Republican” who believes in Neighborhood Reform, Kenneth Rice.
Is that Gerry “Steve” O’Brien, the has-been sometimes-Republican, sometimes-liberal political consultant of Park Slope? You know, the one that grabbed Jonathan Judge last summer, threatening to wipe him and his friends off the political landscape? The same one who stole and destroyed portions of a Republican District Leader’s petitions so he can knock her off the ballot? The same one who gets paid by RINO State Senator Marty Golden tens of thousands of dollars a year to keep the Republican Party subservient to the Brooklyn Democratic Party Chairman Vito Lopez, Assemblyman Peter Abbate, and State Senator Carl Kruger in concert with the Catholic Citizens Committee PAC (CCCP) and the Bay Ridge Cathedral Club Cabal? If that’s the “Steve” we know, or any of his puppet friends, you know exactly where the hate-spewing is really coming from.

Sounds like Steve is admitting to the fact that the Kings County Republicans is working with the Kings County Democrats to undermine a true urban Republican like Mr. Judge. In fact, Steve provides the painfully flawed reasoning why. I read in Courier Life that the Republicrat Parrty’s secretary who also works at the board of elections lied on her report to take signatures away from Judge. I also read that the DEMONcrats are trying to finish him off in court. His comment only explains how and why the machines are collaborating to take down a good Young Republican.
Let me repeat this since the Jonathan campaign team is out in effect, than again there is no campaign so they have nothing else better to do than hurt “Urban Republicans”.

One question for the Judge supporter, Cash or Credit?
Since we know Senator Connor doesn’t accept IOU’s.
Another quick reminder for the Judge team, since they have a blog called Atlas Shrugs that regularly blocks those who post opinions opposite to what Mr. Judge’s blog says, and store’s IP address’s of those who disagree with the views of the Judge campaign team, Is that Castro like or what?
Didn’t Jonathan himself fabricate the Gerry Obrien incident, when Marty Cottingham who was present at this incident disputed Jonathan’s claims.
Jonathan Judge also denied membership of a woman into his club, Lesli Rice because she explained to him correctly the City’s campaign finance laws.
If conservative ideas were brought out so much by the Judge campaign than why couldn’t he collect the valid number of signatures to make the ballot.
How many of the Brooklyn YR’s actually collected signatures for Mr. Judge curious?
If that club was so strong he would have got at least more signatures than Ken Rice right?
Also why hasn’t he time and time again gone on blogs to attack Republicans who were actually conservative?
Why is he complaining about the election laws now, when he tried to use them to his advantage?
Good riddance.

The person who wrote the comments “Chris” and “Steve” is a man named Gerry O’Brien. He is a paid political consultant who physically attacked Jonathan and was reported to the police for his actions (you can Google it). The Kings County Republican Party has done everything in their power to lose elections because of their deals to keep Marty Golden in power. That comes as no surprise, given they keep losing and losing and picking no-name candidates every year. It’s a shame, since so many in the 44th are glad to see Jonathan run and wish him the best on his appeal. Mr. O’Brien is an embarrassment to the Brooklyn Republican Party and should be ashamed of himself for going after Jonathan in this vicious and untrue manner.
Since we know you have a lot of time on your hand, and are part of a crew that run a blog called Atlas Shrugs, that does anything to block and delete comments of those who don’t agree with it’s opinions, not to mention store IP address’s which is anything but “Republican”.
Let me repeat again is it cash or credit, that will be used to pay for Senator Connor’s expenses?
No wait maybe all of you guys have banded together for your allowance money, better yet maybe some of that financial aid money you guys get from the tax-payers to pay for Senator Connors fees.
What’s embarrassing is that Mr.Judge, and the team that you are involved with better yet I wouldn’t be surprised if this is Jonathan Judge himself posting since we know he never posts his real name anymore on various blogs since virtually every Republican in Kings County hates you, are involved in continuing to try and hurt real “Urban Republicans” such as Kenneth Rice the only candidate in the 44th Council District who lives on his own, and in this district.
Let me ask you another question since we know you read these comments, and you have nothing else better to do.
Since Jonathan lives at home with his Mother and Father, how can Jonathan claim to understand the needs of those in the 44th Council District when he has never held a real job other than a patronage job given to him by Democrats, and has never paid any bills or lived on his own two things he has fully admitted.
Also since Jonathan is so “Conservative”, and claims he can make in-roads in this district, why is it that his Mother and Father aren’t even registered “Republican”?
Some “Urban Republican” he can’t even get his Parents to become “Republican” some leader.
What Republicans will Jonathan help in this election cycle other than another divisive figure Lucretia Regina Potter who claimed to be a business owner, but yet her business Bari Tile and Stone on 8024 17th Avenue has a for sale sign and has for months, and now turns out is an unemployed homemaker who lives with her father.
Payback will come to Mr. Judge as Mr. Judge owes his job on community board 14 to the Democrats as fact as the Dem District Leaders in the 44th Council District have told the “Re I mean Democrat” to get out of the race or else.
If the 44th Council District loved Jonathan Judge so much why did Ken Rice get over 200 signatures more than Mr. Judge when it came to pounding the pavement?
If the 44th Council District loved Jonathan Judge so much why did Ken Rice get well over the minimum amount of signatures, something Mr. Judge didn’t?
If the 44th Council District loved Jonathan Judge so much than why couldn’t he get registered voters to help him carry petitions?
Bottom line Jonathan Judge has been an “Enemy” to “Urban Republicans”, and has denied Women the opportunity to make a difference in his club such as Kings County Republican Party Youth Activities Chair Lesli Rice as she herself admitted Mr. Judge denied her entry to the Brooklyn Young Republicans.
By the way before I go, speaking of Gerry O’Brien, didn’t Jonathan Judge support a candidate for the City Council in “Convicted Felon” George Smith, a man who is a “Loose Cannon” to say the least, and hasn’t met a buffet line he didn’t make, not to mention a “Carpetbagger”.
Doesn’t that make guilt by association when it comes to Jonathan?
Sad truth is Jonathan will do all he can to defeat “Urban Republicans”, and is now posting in the third person when it comes to this, Jonathan you are one sad fellow..
