Gow Fields wins Mayoral Election for Lakeland, Fl

Just wanted to get the word out that a Black Republican won a seat for Mayor in Lakeland, Fl. His name is Gow Fields. You can find out more about him here at his campaign site.

LAKELAND, FL — Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for the Lakeland run-off elections.
People voted for Mayor and City Commission District A.
The candidates for Mayor are Gow B. Fields and Jim Verplanck and the people chose Gow Fields. JIm Verplanck recieved 47.24% of the votes while Gow Fields recieved 52.76% of the votes.
The candidates for Northwest District A City Commission are Clarence B. Grier Sr and Phillip Walker. The people chose Phillip Walker who receieved 55.90% of the votes and Clarence Grier, Sr. recieved 44.10%
