Democrats Sentenced for Slashing Republican Tires

Sowande Ajumoke Omokunde, son of congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee), was one of five paid Kerry campaign workers in Milwaukee who slashed the tires of 20 vans that had been rented by Wisconsin Republicans as part of their Election Day 2004 get-out-the-vote effort. Milwaukee, WI (AHN) - Wisconsin congresswoman Gwen Moore's son and three campaign workers are sentenced to four to six months in prison for slashing tires outside a Bush-Cheney campaign office.

The Associated Press reports the men pleaded no contest to misdemeanor property damage for the incident on Election Day 2004. A fifth Democratic campaign worker was found not guilty.
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Michael Brennan rejected the prosecutor's recommendation of probation for Sowande A. Omokunde, Moore's son, and Michael Pratt, the son of former acting Milwaukee Mayor Marvin Pratt.

He says, "This case had to be a public example of what can happen when you interfere with voters' rights."

Wisconsin's Republican had rented more than 100 cars that were parked outside their campaign office. The accused men punctured tires, leaving voters and poll monitors searching for other rides.

Moore says, "I love my son very much. I'm very proud of him... He's accepted responsibility."

Omokunde received a sentence of four months in jail; Pratt and Lewis Caldwell will serve six months; and Lavelle Mohammad got five months in prison. All were given work-release privileges.

Auugh.......Another example of toleance from the looney left
