Scared Democrats "Spying" on Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele

Maryland Democrats are keeping close tabs on the top Republican candidate in the state's U.S. Senate race, by videotaping Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele's campaign stops and noting his fundraisers with Bush administration officials.

"God bless them," Mr. Steele said. "They're so scared, and I love them for that." Derek Walker, executive director of the state's Democratic Party, said videotaping is a typical campaign tactic and that party members are "learning as much as we can" about Mr. Steele. "We certainly take Michael Steele seriously," Mr. Walker said. "And we take George Bush and Karl Rove's threats of bringing $20 million [in campaign money] into Maryland seriously!

Given all the talk about spying from the Democrats, you would
think they would be just a little cautious!

I guess not!

This election is important because if Republicans win
it sets a strategic pattern for future candiates who are black
to win in Democrat strongholds.

It would simply mean that if Democrats just lose 10 percent of the black
vote its all over!
