Claude A. Allen Vs Sandy Berger

The media is reporting that Republican Claude A. Allen was busted,
for stealing products at a Target Store.
The store happens to be in a democrat strong hold with only one Republican counsil member representing District 1.
The Democrats no doubt will try to make this more than it is.
They have been after Mr Allen since Bush nominated him for a federal bench.
Groups like People for the American Way opposed his nomination for his supposed opposition to flooding middle schools with condoms.
Also Mr Allen claims to be a religious Evangelical, so for him to fall
would make Democrats day.
To them its hypocrisy , not simply a man who lost his way.
To them its a real scandal!!
Ironicaly these are the same hypocrites , who daily wear "Free Mumia" T Shirts,
Who till this day think OJ was innocent!
They are also the same hypocrites who were quiet when Sandy Berger Clntons National Security Advisor was caught stealing from National Archives.
Mr Berger stole fifty classified documents, in October 2003, from a National Archives reading room prior to testifying before the 9/11 Commission. The documents were commissioned from Richard Clarke about the Clinton administration's handling of millennium terror threats.
When initially questioned, Berger claimed that the removal of top-secret documents in his attache-case and handwritten notes in his pants and jacket pockets was accidental. He would later, in a guilty plea, admit to deliberately removing materials. Berger left the John Kerry campaign shortly after the incident became public.
Mr Allen in no way did he jepordize national security or the White House. Also he seems to have had a good income accoring to the Drudge he just bought a house that was close to a million dollars.
According to the police said Mr. Allen was seen on Jan. 2 leaving a department store in Gaithersburg, Md., with merchandise for which he had not paid. He was apprehended by a store employee and issued a misdemeanor citation for theft.
A statement issued on Friday by the police said store employees saw Mr. Allen fill a shopping bag with merchandise and put additional items into a shopping cart. He then sought, and received, a refund for some of the items and left the store without paying for others.
The Police Department said that as a result of an investigation it opened after the initial incident in January, it found that Mr. Allen had received refunds of more than $5,000 last year at stores like Target and Hecht's. Mr. Allen was arrested on Thursday and charged in connection with a series of allegedly fraudulent returns. The police said he was charged with a theft scheme over $500 and theft over $500.
The Times also said that Mr. Allen was released on his own recognizance. Which means he promises to appear in court to answer criminal charges.
Mallon Snyder Allen's lawyer said "We deny that Claude Allen took anything from a Target store or any other department store. We would welcome an opportunity to meet with Target store personnel to explain the confusion. Once they have an opportunity to examine the record, these charges will be dropped."
Mr. Snyder said that Mr. Allen had returned merchandise to the Target store on several occasions, but that "there was no impropriety."
The White House no doubt is shocked, and has said that they would give him "the benefit of the doubt" because he had gone through extensive background checks before his judicial nomination.
Allen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in 1982. He was a staff member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 1985 to 1987, considered to be a key aide there to Jesse Helms. In 1990, he was awarded a J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law.
From 1990 - 1991, Allen was a law clerk for David B. Sentelle, a judge on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit famous for his role in the Whitewater investigation. He was an Associate at Baker & Botts in Washington, D.C. from 1991 to 1995. He then served in the Virginia Attorney General's Office from 1995 to 1998, before becoming Secretary (Commissioner) of Health and Human Resources for the State of Virginia.
In 2001, Allen was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Allen's nomination in 2004 to become a federal judge on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals was opposed by liberal and civil rights groups such as People for the American Way and the NAACP. The nomination was derailed by a filibuster by Senate Democrats

Just a question...
What's the hypocrisy in wearing a "Free Mumia" T-Shirt?
The fact that I have to spend time answering this question shows how far removed from reality you are.
The left makes martrys out of murders, like Che and Mummia and Fidel. At the same time you show denounce waht you call righ wing scandals.
Mumia, Che and other leftist criminals gets buttons and rallies,
the right does not do this.
The right has to adhere to certain standards, when the idelogical competion has none.
The standard bar for the left is pretty low, so it is not that hard to keep.
